Production-Ready Millwork Drawings: What a Good Execution Package Must Contain
A complete execution package prevents shop errors, delays and cost overruns. Here is what it must include, point by point.

Between the idea and the fabrication, one step decides everything: the execution package. An incomplete or ambiguous drawing set is paid for in rework, wasted materials and delays. A well-prepared package, on the other hand, lets the shop produce right the first time.
Shop Drawings
Every piece of furniture or casework is drawn to scale, with the necessary views (plan, elevations, sections) and all dimensions. Tolerances, functional clearances and surface finishes are clearly indicated.
Assembly Details
Dowels, biscuits, confirmat screws, dovetails: the assembly method is specified piece by piece, with close-ups on critical joints. The cabinetmaker has nothing to guess.
Bill of Materials and Cut List
- Every part numbered with rough and finished dimensions
- Material and grain direction for each component
- Edges to be banded and their thickness
- Consolidated quantities for material purchasing
Hardware and Materials
Hinges, slides, lift systems, pulls: every item is identified by manufacturer and reference, with the corresponding drilling templates.
At Futur Concept, we deliver complete, verified execution packages, ready to go into production in your shop. Write to us to discuss your next project.
